PEOPLE –  Michelle Johnston  |  Tyler, Texas
Michelle Johnston is blessed to be one of those people who just knew what they wanted to be from an early age. As a child, Johnston envisioned becoming a medical examiner. In high school she realized it was the care of the dead that interested her, not the investigative aspect of forensics, and shifted her focus to funeral service. It was during high school that Johnston was caught crashing funerals.

PLACES – The Professional Car Society
For over a century, the funeral coach has become somewhat of a pop culture phenomenon. The proverbial long, black Cadillac has been featured numerous times in movies and television, mentioned in song lyrics, published in novels, and is among the most easily distinguished vehicles on the street. Recognizing a hearse performing its duty may result in a deliberate pause of respect, showing a sense of solidarity in sadness. For others, the sighting may also induce intrigue, curiosity, and an appreciation for the art that is the automobile itself. Many funeral directors credit first hearse sightings as inspiring senses of duty and calling, while members of the Professional Car Society are connoisseurs fascinated by the uniqueness and craftsmanship of the masterful coachwork creations they collect.

PASSIONS – Regan Moreland  |  Alexander City, Alabama
Everyone has a moment in their life they will never forget – one that is engraved into your memory with vivid pictures, emotions or joy. It alters your future forever. It could be your wedding day, the birth of your first child, becoming a grandparent or traveling to a bucket-list destination. That moment for me was not joyful, but it did forever change the course of my life. Little did I know that losing my son halfway through my pregnancy would send me on a path of hope, healing and a passion for funeral service.
